Preliminary Study on Effective Constituents of Catalpa ovata G.Don Fruits

Abstract: To obtain chemical constituents from the fruit of Catalpa ovata G.Don,the methods of water extraction,ethanol extraction and petroleum ether extraction were used.Protein,amino acid,carbohydrate were tested in the water extracts.Phenol,flavonoid anthraquinone,terpenoid,cardiac glycoside,alkaloid were tested in the ethanol extracts.Alkaloid was found in the acid extracts.Petroleum extracts contained the terpenoid.
