Abstract: Objective: Extraction and determination of content and monomer and antibacterial activity of flavonoids from Xanthoceras sorbifolia Bunge fruit drop. Methods: The contents of flavonoids was determined spectrometrically, color reaction and infrared spectrum analysis and high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) analysis were used to analysis the flavonoids monomer composition of Xanthoceras sorbifolia Bunge fruit drop, and antibacterial activity of Bacillus subtilis and Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus. Results: The content of flavonoids was 18.4 mg/g; There were rutin and other 14 kinds of unknown flavonoids monomer substance in Xanthoceras sorbifolia Bunge fruit drop, simultaneously determined the content of rutin was 27 mg/g in flavonoids from Xanthoceras sorbifolia Bunge fruit drop, which was about 6% of flavonoids of Xanthoceras sorbifolia Bunge fruit drop; Flavonoids of Xanthoceras sorbifolia Bunge fruit drop had inhibitory effect for Bacillus subtilis and Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus, in which the best inhibiting effects on Escherichia coli. Conclusion: Abundant flavonoid in Xanthoceras sorbifolia Bunge fruit drop, which has antioxidant active ingredient rutin and excellent antibacterial activity.
