Abstract: The objective of this study was to investigate the effect of C-PC on non-small cell lung cancer A549 cells according to cell survival rate, cell morphology, cell apoptosis and cell cycle distribution. The results showed that C-PC could significantly reduce the survival rate and growth rate of A549 cells. It also induced cell apoptosis by up-regulating Bax, Bad genes and down-regulating Bcl-2 and Bcl-xl genes. In addition, C-PC could regulate the expression of G1/S check point-related genes and cause G1 phase arrest. The results indicated C-PC had significant inhibitory effect on A549 cells, and provided necessary theoretical basis for the development of new anti-cancer functional food colorants.
