Abstract: Gas chromatography mass spectrometry (GC-MS) and liquid chromatography mass spectrometry (LC-MS) methods for detecting acetylacetone were established and optimized, and the existence form of titanium acetyl acetone was identified using the proposed methods. The content of acetylacetone and titanium in titanium acetyl acetone, gloss oil, ink, and printed matter was detected using high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometer(ICP-OES), respectively. The ultraviolet-treated and heat-treated titanium acetyl acetone was studied using fourier infrared spectroscopy. Results indicated that acetylacetone and titanium exist in the form of ions in the titanium acetyl acetone standard solution, acetylacetone and titanium ions need to be detected separately. Titanium was detected in the samples of gloss oil, ink, titanium acetyl acetone and printing matter, acetylacetone was detected in gloss oil and titanium acetyl acetone but not in ink and printed matter. After heat and ultraviolet-treating of titanium acetyl acetone, oxidation reaction occurs in the carbon-carbon double bond, which means this substance has changed.
