Abstract: The adsorption and desorption performance of eight macroporus adsorbent resin for separation red pigments from Magnoliaceae×soulangeana flower, and determination of pigments by high pressure liquid chromatography(HPLC)were studied. The results showed that the LD-607 is optimum for absorbing pigments among the eight resins, and its adsorption capacity for the liquid pigments sample is 23.8 ml/g dry resin. The concentration of pigments in the liquid sample is eight times of the first concentration after the pigments separated from the sample. In pigments of 218 nm or 329 nm,more than two kinds of constituents are discovered by HPLC analysis.
