Simple and Rapid Detection Method for Colifirms and E.coli in Frozen Foodsby Flourenscence Paper Slip Test

Abstract: A rapid and specific detection method for total coliforms and E.coli in frozen foods was developed based on B-galactosidase and B-glucuronidase activity of the bacterium. The materials about specific indication-nutrirent、enzymaticsubstrate、antibacterical component were fixed on the designed paper slip. If Coliform or E. coli were present in the foodsample, the solution would cause fluorescence under UV lamp, without the need for comfirmatory or complete tests. Thedetecting results were very to interpret. The mehtod which was less costly、less labor needed than the standard methods(AOACmehtods; ISO mehtods) and easy to carry out should be better used for HACCP in situ.
