Abstract: This paper aims to analyze the current status and shortcomings of China’s food inspection system. To improve China’s food inspection system, we suggest improving the laws and regulations on food inspection, clarifying the responsibilities of the inspection authorities at all levels, accelerating the establishment of a team of professional food inspectors, and enhancing the capacity of food inspectors by drawing on the experience of the U.S. food inspection system.
