Role of Talent Training and Discipline Construction in Improving Food Safety Governance Systems

Abstract: The implementation of food safety strategies and the modernization of food safety governance systems and governance capabilities require the support of a complete food discipline and a large number of professionals. The complexity and particularity of food safety issues determine that food safety governance needs interdisciplinary talents in food discipline. As the primary front for discipline construction and talent training, colleges and universities should play an essential leading role, improve their curriculum, and strengthen discipline construction and talent training in food science. This article summarizes the major trends in the development of talent training in food science and other related disciplines at home and abroad, and the experience of representative foreign colleges and universities in food discipline construction and talent training, which will provide a reference to improve food safety governance talent training system, thereby helping in the modernization of food safety governance systems and governance capabilities.
