Antioxidant Activities of Ethanol Extracts of Rape Pollen Collected from Different Regions

Abstract

Abstract: Rape pollens collected from different regions including Qinhai, Hubei, Shannxi, Anhui, Xinjiang, Sichuan and Fujian were extracted by 80% aqueous ethanol and total phenolic content, total flavonoid content, reducing power activity and DPPH radical scavenging activity of the resulting extracts were measured. The results revealed that rape pollens from Xinjiang and Hubei had significantly higher antioxidant activity than those from other regions (P＜0.05). The antioxidant activity of the rape pollen extract from Anhui was significantly lower than other regions (P＜0.05).
