Rapid determination of carotin from carrot juice

Abstract: A simple and rapid method is described for the determination of carotin form carrot juice.Using the anhydrous sodium salphate as abrading agent the carotin was extrated cleaner by grinding. Than wasing ahd purified it several times by 5% sodium salphate solution. Carotin extracted was determined directly by spectrophotometry. Testing the accuracy is 1. 7% - 2. 67%; recovery is over 97. 1%. This method is getmainly applied to the datermination of carrotin from carrot juice.
