Abstract: Corn gluten meal(CGM) was a by-product in a corn starch plant. Corn-yellow pigment could be extracted from CGMby the supercritical fluid extraction(SFE). The paper syste matically studied the influence of temperature、pressure、time、cosolvent solution on the extraction .Compared to the traditional solvent extraction a higher efficiency was obtained in the SFE.The yield of Corn-yellow pigment by SFE was 2.2 times as much as the yield by solvent extraction. The stability of Corn-yellowpigment was also studied, it was sensitive to sunlight and should be preserved in dark at low temperature.

Key words: supercritical fluid extraction(SFE), corn glutin meal(CGM), corn -yellow pigment
