Abstract: Reversed-phased C30 column, a currently favored stationary phase used in the HPLC separation and analysis of carotenoids was introduced herewith. Some working examples of this column on the separation of carotenoids from foodstuffs, especially plant food samples, were also reviewed. In comparison of reversed-phase C18, this stationary phase exhibited a greater benefit for the separation of geometrical (E/Z-) isomers and was therefore considered to have a bright future for the analysis of carotenoids from biological samples, especially from foodstuffs.
