Spectrophotometric Studies on the Colour Reaction of the New Reagent 3-Thiazolyazo-5- Amino Phenol with Copper(Ⅱ) and Its Application

Abstract: Colour reaction of Cu2+ with 3-thiazodyzo -5-amino phenol(3-TAP) was studied. In cetyltrimethylam moniumbromide (CTMAB)medium and pH6.5 buffer solution of clark-lubs 3-TAP could react with copper(Ⅱ) to form a stable 1:1 complex. The molar absorptivity was 3.45×104L/mol·cm, at 546nm when beer’s law was obeyed in the range of 0~2.8μg/ml, This method is applied to the determination of copper in foods with satisfactory results.
