Abstract: The volatile oil was extracted from the Zanthoxylum bungeanum Maxim from Dabieshan area by simultaneity distillation extraction method (SDE) and direct distillation extraction method(DDE). The volatile oil contents of are respectively12.5% (SDE) and 8.9% (DDE). 45 compounds (SDE) and 26 compounds (DDE) were identified by GC-MS. The contents of the identified compounds are respectively 94.68% (SDE) and 93.98% (DDE) of total volatile substances. These relative contents of the components were determined with area normalization method. The main components of the volatile substances by (DDE) are limonene(24.75%); eucalyptol(8.91%); and beta.-pinene(7.81%); while eucalyptol(41.19%); are (+)-α-terpineol(12.25%).
