Abstract: High-speed counter-current chromatography (HSCCC) is a kind of liquid–liquid partition chromatography, which has the unique features of high speed, high efficiency and continuous processing capability. It has been widely used in the separation and purification of Chinese herbal medicines, natural products and healthy foods, as in biochemistry, in environmental chemistry analysis as well. In this paper, the application of high-speed counter-current chromatography for purification of functional ingredients from healthy foodstuffs has been reviewed. Some suggestions to the further use of HSCCC in the future have alsobeen put forward.
