Abstract: The separation technology with Diaion HP20 resin and antibacterial activity of glycosides from Cornus officinalis Sieb. et. Zucc. fruits were investigated in this study. The results indicated that optimal separation conditions with Diaion HP20 resin are:intrinsic pH value of extract of Cornus officinalis fruits,NaCl solution concentration 0.5 mol/L,original concentration of the extract 2.55 mg/ml and sample volume 6 BV. After being absorbed completely by macroporous resin HP-20,glycosides of Cornus officinalis were eluted with water(4 BV) and 30% ethanol(6 BV) in turn at 1.5 ml/min velocity of flow. The glycosides of Cornus officinalis have obviously antibacterial activity in vitro, against such pathogens as Staphy lococcusaureus,Pseudomonas aeruginosa,Erwinia carotovora var. carotovora,Ginger bacterial wilt and Xanthomonas citri.
