Abstract:

The changes of cell morphology of Pseudomonas fluorescens A46, a strain producing 2-keto-D-gluconic acid, were observed by transmission electron microscope after infected by bacteriophage KS461-2. The mutation frequency of P. fluorescens A46 resisting the bacteriophage was determined, the multiplication of the bacteriophage was studied at different pH values, and the control effects of four medicaments on the bacteriophage infection were investigated. The current results showed that the morphology significantly changes following with infection time extending, the mutation frequency of P. fluorescens is about 2.5×10-6, the bacteriophage easily adheres to the host bacteria and proliferates in the pH range of 7.5 to 8.0, and ammonium oxalate can remarkably restrain the multiplication of the bacteriophage and does not affect the growth of P. fluorescens A46, especially the addition of 0.7% is the best.
