Risk Assessment of Enterobacter sakazakii in Milk Powder

Abstract: Enterobacter sakazakii in milk powder cause bacteraemia, necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC) and infant meningitis in neonates. E. sakazakii was found in 2.5%~14% of infant formula milk powder, and 0%~12% of milk powder, with the amount of 0.36~66.0 cfu/100g. The problem of E. sakazakii in infant formula has caused attentions of the people all over the world, and E. sakazakii was researched in many laboratories. This paper summarized our knowledge to date, and presented a risk assessment.
