Abstract: Protoplast from Phellinus igniarius was mutagenized with UV and He-Ne laser.Five mutant strains were selected after three passagings, which were SJ1 to SJ5 strains. The polysaccharide yields of the five mutant strains are higher than that of the starting strain. The polysaccharide yield of SJ4 strain is higher 57.74% than that of the starting strains, the highest. The SJ4 strain has good hereditary stability.According to esterase isoenzyme electropheresis pattern, the esterase zymogram of SJ4 strain is different from that of the starting strain.
