Study on Institutional Factors and Countermeasures for Food Safety

Abstract:  This paper divides the factors which influence food safety into the hard ones (i.e. technical factors) and the soft ones (i.e. institutional factors),and focuses on studying the soft factors. The paper points out that there are problems in China’s food quality supervising and safeguarding systems such as deficient laws and regulations and standards,irrational layout of food quality management departments,etc. Based on the analysis above,the paper puts forward some feasible countermeasures to protect the food safety,including the ideas about constructing effective supervising system for food safety and quality,making comprehensive food safety laws,regulations and standards,etc.
