Abstract: Nankun shan tea leaf variety was a world rare tea resource not containing caffeine.The chromosome number and karyotype analysis showed that it was a kind of evolutionary arboreous macrophyllous tea phant.In the variety,81.82% of the single plant were non- caffeine or of low caffeine content. But the rest biochemical compositions besides alkaloid were of no greater shan different than the high caffeine content plant.
