Abstract: Two kinds of polysaccharides (MLP1 and MLP2) were isolated and purified from mulberry leaves by Sephadex- G50. The gel permeation chromatographic (GPC) analysis revealed that the purity, relative molecular weight and polydispersity of MLP1 was 94.55%, 11800 and 1.25; Meanwhile, the purity, relative molecular weight and polydispersity of MLP2 was 96.64%, 7630 and 1.12, respectively. Moreover, obvious inhibitory effects of MLP1 and MLP2 on α-glucosidase were observed.
