Abstract:  Objective: To establish a HPLC method for determining lovastatin in red yeast rice.Method:Under yellow light, the red yeast rice was extracted with ethyl acetate- PH3.0 phosporic acid solution(1∶ 1)in shaking bed for 2hrs,at the revolving rate of 150r.p.m. and the temperature at 50℃ . Results:The standard curve was linear in the concentration range of 5~ 100μ g/ml(r=0.9999).The average recovery rate was 95.28% with RSD=2.8% .Conclusion:The new and practical method could be used for quality assessment of red yeast rice.It was rapid, sensitive and precise with good reproducibility.
