Determination of Trace Copper by Kin etic Spectrophotometry with P -acetylarsenazo

Abstract: AnewKineticSpectrophotometrymethodforthedeterminationofcopperh asbeenestablished,inwhichp -acethlarsenazo was reducedto discolour by ascorbic acid inHAc -NaAc,wi th copper used as the catalyst andα,α-bipyridineastheactivator.Thekin eticconditionshavebeen studied.T hedetectionlimitofthemethodwas3.15×10-10 g /ml.Thelinearrangeofdeterminatio nwas 0.3~1.0μg /25ml for copper.Satisfactory results were abtained for the de-termination of copper in foodand water.
