Study on the Function of Anti -diarrh ea and Anti -Constipation of Polysac charides Extracted from Wild Patrinia Villosa

Abstract

Abstract: Patrinia Villosa(PV)can cure diarrhea,but it can also relieve constipation,According to our study:Not onlytheleavesandthestemscouldth econstipation,butalsothewater -s olutionextractof P.V.hadthesamef unction.Inordertofindthefunctionalingre dients,westudiedthefunction ofso lublepolysaccharides(SP)andthepectinextract of wild PVto preverit diarrhea and re live constipation.Experimental re sults indicated that SPand pectin fr omwild PV showed high effect on small intestin e peristalsis of mice.They could red uce the times of defecation within 6h ours sig-nificantly,and prolong the firsttime ofdefecation.ItshowdthatbothSPandpectinfromPVcouldnotonly hav e anti -constipation effect,but also preve nt mice fromdiarrhea,The pectin fro mPVwas preferable to SPof PV.
