Abstract: Twospecies ofbacteria,whichcould usebittersaponinas theonhycarbon source,wereobtainedfromthe soilwhereasparagus peelhadbeenheapedforalongtime.KWG -1,abacteriumof pseudomonasspecies,grewfast underoptimumtemperature30℃andpH7.0.Itcoulddecomposetheasparagu s peelandbeextractwithmethanolto make bitter ness disappear.
