Abstract: Methods developed to assay the total trace germanium in plant samples by Zeeman GFAAS were studied.Whendifferent matrix modifiers were evaluated, palladium nitrate produced the optimum Ge signal. The optimum pyrolysis andatomization temperatures for tin analysis were 1200℃ and 2400℃,respectively.The extraction of total germanium fromsamples was best performed by sample digestion with mixture of HNO3-HClO4 and sample dilution extracts with 1% HNO3.Finally,the germanium analytical and extraction method developed in our investigation was satisfactorially used to determine Gecontent in plant samples.
