Abstract: The optimum extracting process of total flavones from bamboo leaves was obtained after using L9(34) orthogonal test plan. We selected four elements——solvent type; solvent concentration; material-solution ratio and extracting time to observe their effects on the extraction of bamboo flavones. The orthogonal test results showed that the optimum conditions were: 60%, acetone, 3h, material-solution ratio 1: 40. The major factors affecting the content of total flavones were the solvent concentration and the material-solution ratio. Both of them had a significant effect on the yield (F>F0.01). On the basis of these experiments, we used x-5 macroreticuler resin together with polyamide to purify the extraction, and the final content of total flavones was up to 78.97%.
