Abstract: After the horseradish peroxidase (HRP) was treated with different strengths of electric field, the HRP and activity index were assayed by ultraviolet-visible spectra. The results have shown that the HRP ultraviolet-visible spectra have been obviously changed accordingly. Experimental results also indicated that the conformation of HRP can be changed by electric field strengths and the activity index of HRP increase with certain strength of electric field. The increase of activity index might possibly be caused by the conformation changes of HRP. The results of this might have important meaning to further explore the macroscopical electrostatic biological effects.
