Abstract:  A analytical system of continuous and automatic spectrometer was formed in conjunction of flow injection setup with spectrometric micro-sensor. A new rapid spectrometric method was developed for determination of formaldehyde in food with presented instrument, which was based on the reactive system of formaldehyde-phloroglucinol. The reaction condition and analytical parameters of flow injection were optimized. The linear range of determination of formaldehyde was 1.00~20.0 μg/ml and the detection limit was 0.10 μg/ml. This method was applied to determination of formaldehyde in food samples. The relative standard deviations of results were less than 8.6% and the spiked recovery was between 90.6% and 107%. The sampling frequency was 90 per hour.
