Abstract: To establish a rapid detection technique for Shigella in the milk. One set of specific primers were designed, according to the conserved area of ipaH gene published on GenBank,to detect Shigella by using a suitable template extraction method for the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and real-time PCR.The sensitivity achieved was as high as to the 2CFU/ml and the detection time was less than 20 h. The new established method will be used to detect the Shigella in the milk rapidly and accurately.
