Abstract: Milk and milk products have larger proportion in the production and consumption of agricultural products in recent years in China. However,as the dairy industry is a new industry in China, its overall industry basis is weak, and there still exist a lot of critical issues unsolved. One of the top concerns is the dairy products standards.According to the World Trade Organization(WTO) agreement, the Codex Alimentarius Commission(CAC) standards or guidelines are considered as general measurements to decide whether food products in different countries meet the hygiene and safety requirements or not.By comparing the 12th volume of ’Milk and Milk products Codex Standards’ in CAC Code with China’s dairy products standards in five aspects, the problems existing in the current China’s dairy products standards were analyzed to find the differences between the related China’s standards and the corresponding CAC ones, and a number of proposals for making the dairy products standards in our country were put forward.
