Effects of Apple Polyphenols on Weight Losing and Lipid Lowing of Mice

Abstract: Taking Kunming male mice as study objectives,effects of apple polyphenols on weight losing and serum lipid lowing of the mice were evaluated in this study. The tested rats were administered by gavage continually with apple polyphenols for 35 days,and then the body weights,body lengths,Lee’s indexes,fat weights(around the kidneys and spermaries),and serum lipid levels of the mice were measured. The results showed that the treatment of apple polyphenols can significantly decrease body weights and fat tissue weights around the testicle and kidney of the mice. Moreover,the serum levels of total cholesterol(TC),total triglyceride(TG),high density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C) and low density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C) are markedly decreased by apple polyphenols(p<0.05). Apple polyphenols have effective functions of losing weight and lowing lipid of mice.
