Abstract: Consumption of cruciferous vegetables can cut the risk of developing a variety of cancers. Erucin is an isothiocyanate present in Eruca sativa. The structure and chemical properties, metabolism and bioavailability of erucin and the mechanism underlying its cancer-preventing function are discussed in this paper. Therefore, erucin will be a potential anti-cancer substance in the future.
