Abstract: With removal rate of cholesterol as detective index, the optimum conditions of cholesterol removal from supercritical CO2 extract of antler velvet were confirmed using saturated water solution of β-cyclodextrin, and the retention rates of three effective components were determined. The experimental results indicated that the content of cholesterol reduces from 47622.37 μg/g to 3981.23 μg/g, and removal rate of cholesterol is up to 91.64%, while the retention rates of three biological bases are 77.31%,82.58%, and 85.19%, respectively on the conditions of ratio of β-CD to the extract 1:2 (ml/mg), inclusion temperature 50 ℃, inclusion time 30 min, and diluted concentration of the extract with water 0.8% (W/V). This process can offer safe and health products by most of cholesterol removal from the extract of antler velvet.
