Abstract: To study the antiproliferative effects of isoflavones on gastric cancer cell lines in vitro, we used stomach cancer cellline SGC-7901 as the model in vitro. We adopted MTT, mitotic index experiment and clone formation experiment to study theinhibition effect of isoflavones. Genistein had an prominent antiproliferative effects on stomach cancer cells in dose- and time-dependent. The antiproliferative effects of other isoflavones on stomach cancer cells were very weak. Through the experiment, the antiproliferative effects of various isoflavones were investigated. The antiproliferative effects of genistein were proved. Thestudy results provided the theoretical base for the use and exploitation of isoflavones.
