Recent advances of electrochemiluminescence in detection of mycotoxins

Abstract: Electrochemiluminescence (ECL) is a chemiluminescence phenomenon triggered by electrochemical techniques. It has advantages of near-zero background, high sensitivity, wide dynamic range and good controllability, for which it has achieved great commercial success in the field of in vitro diagnosis. Encouraged by this, ECL has become one of the current research hotspots in the fields of food safety and environmental monitoring. This paper summarizes the mechanisms and system compositions of ECL, and focuses on the application of ECL combined with immunoassay, aptamer and molecular imprinting technology in detection of mycotoxins. Finally, the main problems and challenges in the application of ECL on food safety were addressed.
