The Study of the Mechanism of the Hovenia Dulcis Thunb on Alcohol Metabolism

Abstract

Abstract: To study the mechanism of the hovenia dulcis thunb on alcohol metabolism,low-does-alcohol model(drinking2.5%alcohol freely),high-dose-alcohol model(drinking 8%alcohol freely),hovenia dulcis thunb extraction,hovenia dulcis thunb plus low-dose-alcohol and high-dose alcohol groups were set.The activities of ADH.SOD and GST and the concentration of GSH and MDA of the mice liver wete measured.The result showed that,hovenia dulcis thunb could reduce the decreasing the activity of ADH、SOD and GST which induced by alcohol,could reduce the increasing the concentration of MDA and the decreasing the concentration of GSH which induced by alcohol.The hovenia dulcis thunb had the function to protect liver from injuries induced by alcohol.
