摘要: 肥胖严重危害人类健康,其中糖类摄入过多是造成肥胖的重要因素之一,使用低热量的功能性甜味剂代替饮食中蔗糖等高热量糖类是目前非常受欢迎的一种预防或缓解肥胖的方式。然而功能性甜味剂与肥胖之间的关系复杂,且目前功能性甜味剂对体重或脂肪代谢的作用尚无定论。这是由于其受多种因素的影响,包括功能性甜味剂的种类、剂量,以及个体差异,包括性别、健康状态以及肠道微生物的组成等。本文通过讨论目前常用功能性甜味剂对机体能量代谢的影响、对脂肪代谢的影响以及对肠道微生物的作用探讨目前功能性甜味剂对肥胖作用的相关研究。同时我们也综述了功能性甜味剂作用的可能机制,为以后更好的选择或使用含有非营养性甜味剂的食物和饮品提供参考。

Abstract: Obesity prevalence has been increasing dramatically worldwide. As a metabolic disorder syndrome, obesity is associated with various health issues, and is characterized by excess lipid storage, a large proportion of which is due to excess intake of sugars from food and beverages. Therefore, replacing sugar with low-calorie functional sweeteners or sugar substituents is a popular dietary choice for the prevention and management of obesity. However, the relationship between functional sweeteners and obesity is complex and there is no conclusive evidence on the effect of functional sweeteners on body weight or adiposity metabolism. This outcome may stem from the different type and doses of functional sweeteners, as well as individual differences, including gender, health status, and gut microbial composition. In this review, we discuss the effects of functional sweeteners on energy balance, adiposity metabolism, and gut microbiota in relation to the current research on the effects of functional sweeteners on obesity. We also review the potential mechanisms through which functional sweeteners may influence energy metabolism and gut microbiota and provide a reference for better selection or use of foods and beverages containing functional sweeteners in the future.
