Obstacles and Countermeasures to Transform Strategy for Abatement of Pollution from Food Industry

Abstract: This paper points out that it is necessary to thoroughly transform the strategy for the abatement of increasingly severe pollution from China’s food industry, namely. transforming the strategy of end-pipe treatment into the strategy of cleaner production. The author discloses four obstacles to this transformation which are related to cognition and attitude, technology, mechanism and public participation. At last part of the paper, four feasible countermeasures are put forward.
