Analysis of the Nutritional Oil Components in Jobs Tears Seed

Abstract: The Jobs Tears seed oil was extracted by Soxhlet extraction. The fatty acids in the Jobs Tears seed oil were estirified and analyzed by GC-MS. 12 components were separated and the contents of the identified compounds found to make up 95. 66%. Of them the major fatty acids were: hexadecanoic acid 13.05%, Linoleic acid 35.75 and Oleic acid 39.85%.
