Abstract:

The effects of neutralization agents and total concentration of substrate on the fed-batch fermentation of 2-keto- D-gluconic acid were investigated and the feasibility of application of membrane separation technology to the extraction of fermentation product was explored. For the fed-batch fermentation of 2-keto-D-gluconic acid, to replace CaCO3 with NaOH or Na2CO3 as a neutralization agent, could significantly increased the total concentration of substrate in fermentation medium. In this case, the conversion rate of glucose into 2-keto-D-gluconic acid was as high as 90% and membrane technology could be applied to the separation of 2-keto-D-gluconic acid, facilitating the steady increase of overall production yield and the improvement of product quality.
