Research Progress on Structures, Functional Characteristics of Steroidal Saponins in Asparagus officinalis L.

Abstract:

The methods for the extraction, separation, purification and structural identification of steroidal saponins in Asparagus officinalis L. are summarized in this paper. Meanwhile, current research achievements in their structural identification are also reviewed. The structures and biological properties of 27 kinds of known steroidal saponins are discussed in detail, which will provide a reference for future analysis and research.
