Determination of Aloin in Aloe Products by RP-HPLC

Abstract: This paper reported a method for determining aloin in aloe products by RP-HPLC. After being extracted with methanolby ultrasonic, aloin was separated on a Kromasil C18 column with acetonitrile-water(25:75 by volume) as a mobile phase at a flowrate of 1.0ml/min and detected at 359nm. The average recovery was 97.8% and the relative standard deviations(n=5) was 0.75~3.8%. This method was proved to be simple,rapid,accurate and reliable.
