Isolation and Toxin Determination of Strains Producing Fumonisin

Abstract: The fumonisins are mycotoxin, originally isolated in 1988, synthesized mainly by several species of genus fusuriam. In this paper, two strains of C405 and C510 producing fumonisin were separated from corns, and primarily identified as genus fusarium. The methods of extraction and purification on fumonisin B1 from fermentable liquid were studied. TLC was chosen for half-quantificational determination of fumonisin B1, and HPLC for quantificational determination. Meanwhile, fumonisin B1 was extracted from corns and peanuts was detected too.
