Abstract: The bacteriostasis functions of Polyonatic Sibiricum polysaccharides (PSP) in the partial bacteria were explored by inhibitory zone with filter paper disk method. The results showed that PSP have evident antibacterial effects. Inhibitory effect on Staphylococous aureas is remarkably, MIC=0.5%, and the diameter of inhibiting is 19.6 mm. Inhibitory effect on Escherichia is small, MIC=2.0%, and the diameter of inhibiting is 11.2 mm. And PSP has definite anti-oxidative ability also.

Key words: Polyonatic Sibiricum polysaccharides, antimicrobial concentration, antimicrobial activity, anti-oxidative ability
