Abstract: In acetic acid buffer and SCN-medium, while copper(Ⅱ) reacts with micro ascorbic acid to form CuSCN precipitate, the spectra of CuSCN have shown specific resonance. Based on this phenomenon, the relationship between the intensity of resonance scattering and the concentration of ascorbic acid was studied. Hence a new method was proposed for the determination of ascorbic acid by resonance scattering. The linear range of the determination is 0.25~1.25μg/ml, and the detection limit is 0.25 ng/ml. The method has been applied successfully for the analysis of ascorbic acid in the vitamin C tablet and drink.
