Abstract: An analytical method for determination for melamine in vegetable materials by high performance liquid chromatog- raphy was developed. Samples were extracted by blending with water. The extract was purified by adding potassium hexaoyan oferrate (Ⅱ) trihydrate and zinic acetate dihydrate to precipitate protein. The HPLC conditions: PR18(4.6×250 mm, 5μm), water-ammonia-perchloric acid as mobile phase, and UV detection at 240 nm. The limit of detection was 0.5 mg/kg. The average recoveries were 70.2 %~80.2 % at the concentration of 1.0~4.0 mg/kg. Relative standard deviation was less than 10%.
