Immune Safety Assessment of Genetically Modified Foods

Abstract: With the development of transgenic biotechnology and the commercialization of genetically modified crops, safety assessment of genetically modified foods (GMF) is necessary and urgent. Immune safety assessment is one of its indispensable parts. In this paper, the necessity, methods and current research progresses of immune safety assessment of genetically modified foods are summarized with the aim of creating a systematic and practical standard and procedure for GMF immune safety assessment and providing references for the establishment of standards and systems for GMF safety assessment.
