Abstract: Objective:To investigate the effects of soybean isoflavone on early stage kidney injury in impaired glucosetolerance(IGT) rats induced by D-galactose(D-ga1).Methods:To make the IGT model rats by intraperitoneal injection(i.p.) D-gal for 8w.Two doses of SI(soybean isoflavone) were given intragastrically(i.g.) for 6w since the 3rd w,2h BG,BUN,MAU,LDH and LDH isoenzyme activity in every group were tested at the end of the experiment. Results:Compared with the normal control group,2h BG,MAU content and LDH activity of the model group increase obviously(p<0.05),while LDH isoenzyme activity also increases.Compared with the model group,2h BG,MAU content,LDH activity(p<0.05) while LDH isoenzyme activity of the SI group decrease significantly. Conclusion:SI could protect renal damage through improving IGT,decreasing MAU content and renal LDH activity of IGT rats, and regulating the activity of LDH isoenzyme.
